Shred the Secrets Beginner Guide

Follow a cautious first-run checklist for documents, scraps, shredding, cash, Skill Tree upgrades, room completion, and going home.

Your first objective is to understand one complete room cycle. Do not chase a secret or speed badge until you can tell which documents, scraps, shredder interaction, and room exit belong to normal progression.

First-room checklist

  1. Walk the accessible area once and identify documents, loose scraps, shredders, doors, and the current exit.
  2. Grab the documents you can reach, then vacuum the scraps left in the same area.
  3. Return to a shredder before your route becomes a long backtrack. Shredding is the official source of cash.
  4. Read the live Skill Tree before spending. Buy an upgrade only after checking what it changes in the current build.
  5. Sweep walls, corners, filing cabinets, and recently opened areas before treating the room as clear.
  6. Follow the game’s completion prompt and continue toward the goal of going home.

Useful first milestones

First Day on the Job confirms your first shredded stack. Company Card confirms your first upgrade, while Access Granted confirms the first unlocked door. These official badges make useful progress checks because they correspond to the basic loop rather than an assumed route.

If progress stops, return to the last area you opened and separate the problem: an uncollected document, scraps that still need vacuuming, paper not yet shredded, or a door interaction. Avoid copying exact upgrade prices or room coordinates from an undated video; both still require live verification.

Evidence level: the loop and badge objectives are Official. Controls, prices, and exact locations Need in-game testing. Checked July 27, 2026.
